What Causes Sore Throat Along With Constant Cough During Nights In A Child?

My 8 year old started with a fever of 104 for 4 days and a sore throat. They checked for strep and flu which were negative. Fever has lowered to 100 to 101 in last 2 days but she has a persistent cough constantly say and night. Her throat is extremely sore and she is not eating much. She has been on an antibiotic for 5 days when I took her to the doctor 5 days ago they checked for strep, flu and pneumonia but all was negative.

Your son is most probably suffering from some sort of viral infection nothing else. For this you have to continue the antibiotic same as prescribed by your doctor or you can change it after an expert opinion. For fever you have to give her tab calpol or tab crocin 250 mg every 6-8 hourly after meals. For cough she has to take syrup asthakind or syrup bro-zedex every 8-12 hourly.
