Hi, i have a sore throat, a cough sometimes i feel like its coming from my chest, hoarse, dry throat no matter how long its been after i drink water or tea....no runny nose, no fever, eating ok.....just curious if it could have been strep....i have had this for six days....sometimes i feel like its going away, next day its like its not easing up. if this costs....never mind.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of sore throat along with cough which seems to be due to persistence of upper respiratory tract infection leading to bronchitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to
- Avoid oily and sharp food. Drink plenty of fluids.
- Do warm saline gargles two times a day.
- Take proper course of antibiotics along with anti inflammatory medications such as Azithromycin 250 mg along with Cetrizine.
- Apply mist humidifiers in room.
If symptoms keeps on persisting you should visit ENT specialist once and get it examined. You should get paranasal sinus x-ray done along with blood tests and start treatment after proper diagnosis.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Harry Maheshwari
