What Causes Sore Throat Along With Difficulty In Swallowing?

I had a common cold from allergies that ended about two weeks ago. I now have this terrible sore throat that i have had for 6 days and it hasn t gotten any better. I can barely drink or swallow because of the pain and it hurts to talk. I went and got a strep test done and it came back negative but they didn t give me anything to help and i am miserable.

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain as strep test is negative you may have a viral infection leading to sore throat.
You can take Ibuprofen or paracetamol if you have severe pain.
Do warm saline gargles.
Avoid hot and spicy food.
Take more of water preferably luke warm to curb infection faster.

Wish you wellness and good health..

Thanks and regards.
