Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain
sore throat and a pea sized painful lump inside the tongue seems to be probably due to viral infection while it can also be due to
strep throat that can be due to bacterial infection..
The tender lump seems to be probably due to inflammation caused due to viral infection and it will resolve gradually as the symptoms subside..
I would suggest you to an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Throat swab culture can help in diagnosis..
You can be advised to anti inflammatory painkillers like
Ibuprofen, doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can help..
You can also suck throat lozenges, chew Vitamin C pellet and avoid spicy and chilled foods..
In case of bacterial infection along with other remedies antibiotics like
Augmentin or
Azithromycin can also be advised..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
