Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Sore Throat Along With Nasal Congestion And Fatigue?
I began feeling like I was getting a cold about 5 days ago, sore throat, nasal congestion and general malaise. On the next day I had extreme fatigue, dizziness and the feeling my heart was fluttering. I never ran a fever and my cold like symptoms subsided within 48 hours. I continue to have bouts of dizziness and the fluttering feeling in my chest mostly when I move around and sometimes from taking a deep breath. I cannot figure out if this feeling is left over from the cold or if it is a separate problem I need to have addressed. My blood pressure was elevated on the first 2 days of the illness as well but has come down some but still not to baseline. I have not been taking cold medications and I do not have any pain associated with this either.
It could be a simple sore throat. You can start on a short cor antibiotic like Amoxiclav for symptomatic relief. Do warm saline gargles and take antihistamines like Cetirizine also.
If symptoms persist better to consult a physician and get evaluated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
