What Causes Sore Throat Along With Pressure In The Head And Face?
Hello, firstly, I started off with a burning/irritated/sore throat, facial pressure, headache, and a runny nose. Now it has progressed to a cough that sometimes produces mucus and a stuffy nose that when I blow produces mucus. What do you suggest I do to get better?
As per the symptoms that you have explained about having sore throat, facial pressure, headache and runny nose are all due to sinus infection or sinusitis. Mucous production through nose is due to the fact that sinuses drains through nose. I would suggest you to consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated.
He can confirm by advising Sinus x ray to rule out the cause. In case of there is Sinusitis you can be advised antibiotics, anti inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen or Naproxen, decongestant nasal spray like Xylometazoline or Oxymetazoline, steam inhalation, saline nasal irrigation. Doing cool compresses around nostrils and using a humidifier in your room can help.
Hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Honey Arora
