What Causes Sore Throat Along With Red Spots On The Uvula?
Hi, i m currently experiencing a sore throat with a bunch of red dots all over my uvula. i have no other symptoms of a cold but it has been like this for three days with extreme discomfort at night and mild during the day. could i possibly have an STI or other sickness in my throat?
The commonest cause of a bunch of red dots all over uvula along with discomfort at night and mild pain during the day is the development of a condition called apthous ulcers. The exact cause is not known; colitis with malabsorption can be the cause.
The treatment is simple and as follows:
-Small sips of water frequently as this helps in keeping the hydration and also has self-cleaning properly.
-Multivitamins with minerals.
-Folic acid.
Get blood tested for CBC, sugar, kidney and liver functions as well as for STI/STD as you have a suspicion.
Clinical evaluation and prescription based additional medications as advised by your Doctor should help you a lot.
Take care and do not worry.
Hope I have answered your query. Feel free to ask for further relevant queries.
