What Causes Sore Throat And Cough?

I have had a sore throat and cough for two weeks. I've visited a doctor and had a throat swab and it is not strep throat but a virus. The cough has subsided but the sore throat has persisted along with not been able to breathe throught my nose at night.

Hi, you are having sore throat and congestion of nose and this is quite common with viral upper respiratory tract infection. Please take analgesics and nasal decongestant drops for few days along with steam inhalation. This should take care of your symptoms and the viral infection will be taken care of by body immunity as is the usual case. Regards
