What Causes Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing?
I have had a chronic sore throat for 5 years now. Whenever I swallow or eat anything it hurts, I have never visited a doctor regarding this either. I have tried multiple home remedies for instance salt gargling, honey ginger lemon tea and steaming and humidifying and none of them seem to.work. My father is a smoker and I believe that may be a factor. It usually goes away after 4-5 days but will return a month or so later. Please help.

This is most probably related to allergic bronchitis (secondary to passive smoking from father`s counterpart). Physical examination with necessary work-up in form of indirect laryngoscopy and chest x-ray are mandatory for confirmation of the diagnosis and further management accordingly.
