What Causes Sore Throat And Difficulty In Swallowing?

My 6 year old son just finished 10 days of antibiotics for impetigo 1 week ago. He now has a red throat, difficulty swallowing and sounds congested. He feels warm to the touch but only has a 98.6 fever . I believe others in his class have had strep throat but believe he is suffering from allergies and the redness is cause by drainage. I am currently giving him Hyland s Cough and Cold which seemed to cover most of the symptoms. I gave him Children s Advil thinking it might reduce this slight fever or just help his throat. Thank you for listening after hours.

Thank you for asking.
Your son is recovering from impatago infection.... may be due to weakness & refuced resistance following the infection &antibiotics... he seems to have contacted throat infection &you are suspecting streptococcal throat (which is an adment infection &DIFFICULT TO BE CURED.
IN SUCH CASE he should be investigated foe streptococcal infection &given specific treatment if he has the infection.a complete course.
But if he has no evidence of infection after the tests... he needs symptomatic treatment (as you have already started ) along with vitamine ,proteins suppliments .
Please follow up his foctors routine consultations as usually.
