General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is mostly due to a respiratory tract infection. Usually an antibiotic course is prescribed to such patients (specially Amoxicillin). Take OTC analgesics like Acetaminophen and Paracetamol for pain relief and fever. Do hot saline gargles and take steam inhalation.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ajeet Singh, General & Family Physician
