What Causes Sore Throat And Hoarseness?

hi I have been having different symptoms throughout the week. I have had a sore throat last week that turned into it feeling like I was swallowing a rock. it wasn t painfull, just felt uncomfortable. the next day (satuday 4/14) I lost my voice and I sounds low and raspy. today, 4/18 the voice remains lost and looking in the mirror my tonsils are swollen and the feeling of swallowing a rock is back as of a couple hours ago. There is no pain, fever, or fatigue just an uncomfortable swollen feeling in the throat. Also the only change in throat coloration is redness. What is this and what should I do.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Do gargles with lukewarm water, salt added, 3 to 4 times a day. Avoid cold things.

If fever is there along with a sore throat, then take tablet Azithromycin for 3 to 5 days. Drink as much water as you can.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Hiren Hirpara
