What Causes Sore Throat And Inflamed Tonsils After An Oral Surgery?

My daughter had her wisdom teeth out on the 27th of December and her "holes" are still healing. Today she complains of a terrible sore throat and when I looked her throat is terribly red and her tonsils are white puss covered inflammed bags. I also see black and green. I have never dealt with strep let alone strep post oral surgery. Should I be concerned? She is already on penicillian for the post op treatment.

thanks for your query i have gone through your query. the redness over the tonsil could be secondary to fungal infection since you are taking antibiotics. the socket will heal in 7-10 days, nothing to worry, continue the course of antibiotics and anagesics and do saline gargling and maintain oral hygiene. consult your dentist get the socket irrigated once. i hope my answer will help you. take care.
