What Causes Sore Throat And Lump?

My throat has had a sore lump on the left bottom side of my throat where I swallow for about a week (could be relieved by keeping it moist).I was eating spicy Butter Chicken (Actually I am caucasian) and as I swallowed there was a popping sensation, and now it is sore all the time, worse when I speak and really unpleasant to swallow.Essentially Identical to this poster:Sore throat with little irritation when swallowing, popping sensation in throat. Is it normal ?My throat has felt sore today. There was a little irritation when swallowing . However, I swallowed a little while ago and felt a popping sensation in my throat. It hurt and felt odd. Now it is extremely hard to swallow and hurts when I speak. Do I need to go to the emergency room or just go see my primary care doctor? Or is this normal?

Hi..
Thanks for the query.

As per your complain it seems you had a tonsillar enlargement and a soreness due to it.. And when you ate spicy food stuff it must have irritated the already inflamed gland as well as it could have traumatised the lump due to which the soreness has increased..

I would suggest you to see an ENT specialist and get your throat evaluated for the exact reason of the lump and what is causing you irritation and soreness...

By the time you should avoid all kinds of spicy and hard food stuff..
Take soft and cold food stuffs to give soothening effect to your throat..
Warm saline gargles can can help...

Hope you get well soon..

Thanks and regards..
