What Causes Sore Throat And Severe Cough After Treated For Bronchitis?

Hello, I ve been diagnosed with bronchitis 3 weeks ago. After taking antibiotics for 10 days and cough syrup it got much better. However my throat is still sore, I do have some cough and I feel my lymph node that I have on the side of my neck is bigger and bothers me. I have not done biopsy as I was told few years ago it s located on the main vein and all they can do is remove it and then send to the lab. My voice changed a little bet. What should I do? Is that mean I have a cancer? I am 39 years old and going through very stressful situation for past couple of years. I do smoke, but. I am not heave smoker. Thank you, Magma

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of severe cough and sorethroat after getting treated for bronchitis which seems to be due to left over upper respiratory tract infection and poor immunity of body. Need not to worry. You should not smoke at all. Visit ENT specialist once and get it examined and start treatment after thorough examination. You should get blood and sputum tests done. Take proper course of antibiotics such as Levofloxacin along with antiinflammatory medication such as Levocetrizine. You should maintain complete oral hygiene. Do warm saline gargles. Apply mist humidifiers in room.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
