What Causes Sore Throat And Sinus Drainage?
I have had 3 different bouts of sore throat (sudden onset), sinus drainge (yellow to green), and clammy skin, also night sweats, no fevers, since the first week in January of this year, each bout lasting 3-4 weeks. I m a diabetic (several years) taking metformin, dose increased in January to 850 mg twice daily. Are these symptoms due to allergies to, for example, oak or mold?

It may be due to:
1. Allergy
2. Post nasal discharge
3. Chronic sinusitis
4. Immune suppression status
Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Check your blood sugar status, get it done throat swab culture and sensitivity. Use tablet Amoxicillin and Clauvulinic acid 625 mg for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult with your ENT specialist he will examine and treat you accordingly.
