What Causes Sore Throat And Swelling In Back Portion Of Tongue?

I have had a sore throat (no fever) for approximately 8 days. The soreness in my actual throat has migrated to the left back portion of my tongue which is swollen and painful to the touch. It is also uncomfortable to swallow. I am wondering if this is just inflammation caused by the sore throat. Help, please?

Hello

It is likely that the lymphoid tissue at the back of your throat have become infected, hence you are feeling the pain and swelling.
Please dont worry, you may need antibiotics and i would like you to meet your doctor for the prescription.Meanwhile avoid spicy food and gargle with warm salt water, it will help.
Thanks
