What Causes Sore Throat And White Streaks Behind Throat?
I am a 22 year old male, 75" tall, 210 lbs., who has been using smokeless tobacco for about 5 or 6 years. Over the last week to week and a half I have had a sore throat and noticed some small white streaks on the back of my throat. No other symptoms other than very very mild discomfort when swallowing. I have been hospitalized for strep twice, the last time being about 8 years ago. Any ideas?
These symptoms of sore throat and white streaks behind throat you have refer to have bacterial infection of your throat. Almost streptococcal infection cause that and you should have complete course of treatment interruption of your treatment and misuse of antibiotic will cause you to have recurrent infection and that will cause you a problem of getting resistance to antibiotics. So, you should do throat swab to detect bacteria causing it and you should take Amoxicillin & Clavulinic acid for 10 days to complete eradication of that bacterial infection if streptococcal. Try to be calm with that it is not severe problem and we see this problem a lot in our clinic. Wish you a healthy life.
Take care
