What Causes Sore Throat, Bump Of Roof Of Mouth With Sores?
Last night and all day today I have had a sore throat. Also I have this huge bump on the roof of my mouth that has yellow/white sores on it. It hurts and is hard to swallow food without hitting it. The back of my mouth is yellow also. What does all this mean?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain sore throat is due to throat infection which can be bacterial or viral in nature and the bump over palate can be an infected mucous cyst or swollen minor salivary gland or adenoma or a pyogenic granuloma.. You should start taking antibiotics like Azithromycin 500 mg once a day for 5 days.. Take Ibuprofen 400 mg thrice a day for reduction in pain and inflammation.. Gargle with a numbing mouthwash especially before meals so that there will be ease in eating and swallowing.. Chew a Vitamin C tablet daily.. Do warm saline gargles.. Take a soft and bland diet and avoid hot, spicy and hard foods..
You will start observing improvement in 3 to 4 days and in case if still there is no improvement consult an ENT physician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
