What Causes Sore Throat, Cough And Excessive Dry Mouth?
Hi doc, I ve been very sick for about two days now. It s nothing serious but something weird just happened. I took some pain medication earlier for my head and muscles. I woke up this morning with a fever and I have a sore throat and cough. I just had lunch and I think I ate too fast. I took a sip of water about two hours after eating. At this time, my mouth is very dry. After I take a drink of water, I start salivating, as if I m about to throw up. I went to the bathroom but I didn t vomit or anything; I just kept salivating. My mouth is dry again and I want to take another drink of water, but even when I think of it, I have a natural aversion to taking even a tiny sip. Would this salivating be caused by my intake of water? I know I need to drink, but I don t want to throw it back up. Any insight would be helpful! Thanks! :)

What Causes Sore Throat, Cough And Excessive Dry Mouth?
Hello, I read carefully your query and understand your concern. Your symptoms seem to be related to an upper respiratory tract infection. I suggest to use anti inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen three times a day. I also suggest to drink liquids and rest. For the cough you can use cough suppressant Dextromethorphan. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again. Kind regards! Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi General &Family Physician
