What Causes Sore Throat, Excessive Saliva And Odd Taste In Mouth?

I have had an on-off sore throat for some weeks. The sore throat has nearly resolved (for the moment) but I am now producing excess saliva, I also have an odd taste in my mouth. I have been seen by a physician who has referred me to an ENT specialist as he could see nothing but the new symptom is troubling.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you to do a blood count to see the level of leukocytes. Maybe you have GERD which makes you have excessive saliva and strange taste in mouth because presence of bile. I suggest to do upper endoscopy and consult with Gastroenterologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Blerina Pasho, General & Family Physician
