What Causes Sore Throat Followed By Headache And Shaking?

Last Thursday, I went into the ER and found out I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. After some pain meds, they sent me home and said to watch out for signs of infection. I ve had pain since, but only a few bursts of severe pain. Yesterday and today, I have a sore throat, headache, and am feeling a little shaky. My abdomen itches like crazy on the lower left side, which it hadn t done since before the cyst ruptured. I m wondering if I should follow up on any of these things.

This is Dr. Papaqako answering your question.
Thank you for posting your query to HCM.

An ovarian cyst, should not need other follow up unless (as your doctor said) gives signs of infection (fever).
Although, the other symptoms you are describing, do not have much to do with the ovarian cyst. It may be a common viral upper respiratory tract infection starting its course, and in this case, you just need to use symptomatic treatment (Paracetamol or Ibuprofen as needed, plenty of fluids, ect).
If the fever lasts for more then 3-5 days, if your general condition gets much worse, and if the abdominal pain gets also worse, then I would recommend to follow up with your doctor.
