What Causes Sore Throat, Headache, Productive Cough And Wheezing After An Endoscopy?

I had an endoscopy on Wednesday. The next day I noticed I had a sore throat. Friday afternoon I got a headache that gets better with medication but comes back after the medication wears off. I have a lot of mucus and go into coughing fits. I also have wheezing when I lay down. I have some chest pain which feels worse if I take deep breaths that also brings on the coughing. My question is do you think this is related to,the endoscopy. The reason for endoscopy is a large hiatal hernia that has pushed my stomach into my diaphragm.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It may be due to throat infection.

For that you may require antibiotics after physician consultation.

Continue Saline or Betadine gargles twice a day.

You can take tablet acetaminophen for fever.

Keep your self hydrated

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
