What Causes Sore Throat, Nausea, Body Ache And Chest Congestion?

my 61 year old male friend is suffering with a sore throat, nausea, chest congestion and body ache. Is it a cold or something more serious? He had a bone marrow transplant one year ago which was successful so has no signs of multiple myeloma since. He hasn t had any immunity shots because his doctor said now would be the time they would administer this. Thank You.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As he has been on treatment for previous illness and is immuno-compromised comparably so he is more prone to develop infections like respiratory tract infections and signs and symptoms point towards that. Antibiotics may be needed after chest X-ray and baseline infections work up. Anti histamines and expectorants may also be needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
