I m currently on antibiotics because I had strep throat and although I can eat now and the pain has gone away, I notice that my throat gets sore everytime i lay down til I get up. Once I m up for a while it goes away until I lay down to go to sleep. Is this normal?

Hi, thanks for your query.
Yes you can have soreness in the throat while asleep because of congestion in throat, and because of mouth breathing.
Continue with the medicines prescribed.
You can do steam inhalation and hot saline gargling before sleeping.
Throat lozenges will also help.
This symptoms will be there upto 2 weeks of recovery of infection.
Avoid cold items and oily foods.
