What Causes Sore Throat With Mucus While Coughing?

I have a really bad soar throte that I have had for over five days. I have tryed to get rid of it bit gurgling with salt water and stuff but Nothing helped. It hasn t gotten better or worse since it started. I can t sing and my voice is scratchy and won t crack of I try to sing. It is slightly lower then it was Before too. I have a thing called a tonsil stone in my tonsils but I have had that for a while and this just happened recently. It hurts when I cough even alittle bit. Even if I sneeze. I do have a bit of mucas but I don t think it s just a cold because I have had it for over five days and nothing changing. It hurts especially at night and is hard to fall asleep with. What do I have?

I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

This could be upper respiratory infection.

I recommend the following.
1) A course of antibiotics.
2) Analgesics like tablet paracetamol for pain.
3) An expectorant cough syrup for mucus with cough.
4) Salt water gargling. Add a pinch of salt to a glass of warm water.
5) If the tonsil stone is not resolving, this needs to be removed by ENT doctor.
