Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per the symptoms
sore throat,
tonsillitis and feeling sinusy just before or at the onset of
menstruation comes under
Premenstrual syndrome and it is due to reduced
progesterone levels which causes more relaxation of tongue muscle leading to tongue fall towards throat during sleeping which creates a suction pressure causing the acid from stomach to reflux in throat causing sore throat and irritation and inflammation of tonsils, and
choking due to inflamed and swollen throat..
Some women also has cold like symptoms and congestion..
As she is undergoing laproscopic surgery the problem with tonsils may resolve but can still have the symptoms of sore throat at every onset of periods..
For symptomatic relief from sore throat warm saline gargles can be done 3 to 4 times a day.
Taking
Ibuprofen can provide relief..
Avoid spicy food.
Drink plenty of water and take antacids half an hour before meals as both will help in making the acid less concentrated..
Sleep with head slightly raised as compared to feet.
Prefer left lateral position if you want to sleep laterally..
For sinusy and congested feeling steam inhalations and saline nasal sprays can help..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.
