What Causes Sore Tip Of Nose With Discharge Of Puss And Blood?

My friend has a very sore tip of the nose. About 4 weeks now. She finally popped it an some puss and a little blood has been oozing out for 3 days. 10 years ago I had a similar experience. Very sore tip of the nose for about a month but it went away and never returned. I assumed it was an ingrown hair.

Thanks for your query. From your history it appears as an furunculosis - bacterial infection of the hair follicle(s) of the hair bearing area of the nose. If it is improving - no medical treatment required. But if is not improving then topical and oral antibiotics are required.
