What Causes Sore Vagina After Non Penetrative Sex?

Every time I perform oral sex on my wife she complains that her vagina is sore the next day. Sometimes it's just irritated and occasionally she thinks she gets a yeast infection. What can I do to prevent her discomfort and maintain our oral proclevity.
