What Causes Soreness And Bleeding From Tonsils?

Hello,I would like to ask if I need to get any antibiotics for my tonsils. I had previously problems with them, but I have not get reffered by GP to ENT specialist as they said I would need to have to come to surgery 7 times and not 5, had treatment with lots of different type of antibiotics. Tonsils got better after that. From last 3 days my tonsils got sore and every morning I have notice they have started bleeding, (spitting with blood). What shall I do?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have problem of tonsillitis . Well tonsillitis occur in severe upper respiratory track infection , when body immunity is low or infection is left untreated . When tonsillitis occur very frequently even after taking enough antibiotics ans cause other problems like breathing problem or swallowing problem the they shoul get removed . I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper examination . Doctor may order test like throat swab test , viral culture test , take biopsy or blood testr . Doctor may prescribe antiviral drug ( acyclovir ) , anti bacterial ( amoxicillin ) along with anti inflammatory or may recommend tonsilectomy .
