General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

You quite possibly could have an upper respiratory tract infection and may need a doctors visit. Respiratory tract infections can cause some amount of dehydration which may be straining your kidneys. But what is also important to note is that a possible pre-existing condition of the kidneys can get aggravated when an individual is even mildly dehydrated. So it wouldn't hurt to visit a doctor, so please do go ahead with that doctors visit.

Best wishes.
