What Causes Soreness And Pain In The Nipples?

A few days ago my nipples (both left and right) felt very raw and were hurting to the touch. Almost like a burning feeling. I havent dine anything new so i dont understand where this could have came from. Now today the rawness is healing into a scab like-ness. Can you explain why this happened?

hi. I have read your question and understand your concern.

raw and sore nipples are features of nipple eczema. nipple eczema is usually due to dry skin. it can also occur if you are breast feeding.

I would suggest you apply a mild steroid cream like fluticasone once a day and a good moisturiser like cetaphil dam cream 2-3 times a day. also avoid harsh soaps.

hope this helps. for any further queries please get back to us. thanks.
