What Causes Soreness And Painful Red Blisters In The Throat?

I woke up last night with a very sore throat. I looked at it and it was very red and covered with small to medium blisters. I also had a number of ulcers in my mouth which were also very painful. These conditions continued throughout the day and are still present. My temperature was never above 99.5. What could have caused this?

Hi,

Sore throat, getting red and covered with small to medium blisters and multiple ulcers in mouth recently are suggestive of angina (infected tonsils). You had viral infection first complicated with possible bacterial infection.

Antibiotics to start. Get good oral hygiene. Apply glycerin of borax in the affected area.
Use oral antiseptic spray. Take oral anti-inflammatory meds (paracetamol, ibuprofen).
Take multivitamin supplementation (especially C and B).

Wish fast recovery.
