What Causes Soreness And Severe Back Pain After Laparoscopic Ventral Rectopexy?
I have had a Laproscopic ventral rectopexy on the 22nd dec 2015 My bowel movements have been fine up to Saturday 16th Jan . I got severe back back and pelvic pain and the is going into my buttocks & top part of my legs. My muscles in most parts of my body are sore. Today the pain has got better subsided except the pain in my pelvic area is still there and when I cough it is worse. Been taking movicol to help not strain the bowels

Read and reviewed your query and health concerns.
You seems to suffer from-Fibromyalgia from post-Rectopexy mild infection-which seems to have resolved lately, there after in 3 weeks time.
All these complaints of pelvic and back pain, with sore muscles/body/buttocks/legs,are due to post-operative mild infection.
Pelvic area pain currently,is giving severe pains on coughing.
Remedy-to fix the cause of the soreness/and severe back pain after lap-Ventral Rectopexy.
USG/ or CT Study-to assess the post-operative SOL-Space Occupying Lesion-from Collection or abscess- needs to be done to prevent further complications, in your case,as the pelvic pain on coughing needs to be monitored for further complications,as discussed above.
Continue Movicol till then, if need be.
Consults with the attending surgeon/ and Second opinion to confirm the doubts and resolve the anxiety is suggested for early recovery..
