What Causes Soreness And Swelling Inside The Mouth?

The inside of my mouth is sore and swollen and raw, but not a canker sore or open sore. It's on both sides. It has been ~1 day and it feels a bit worse than earlier. I was at the dentists within the last 2 weeks and he said my teeth looked great. I'm 39 F in good health, good diet.

It seems like Nutritional deficiency of iron or Vitamin B12 causing Stomatitis or Oral Mucositis and raw feeling inside mouth.
As you are a female other causes can be hormonal imbalances.
Few other causes are stress, burning with hot food, trauma with sharp tooth, allergic reaction etc.
You need to consult an Oral Physician and get a thorough evaluation done and he can also advise you to get blood investigations done for checking hemoglobin %,blood sugar levels, hormone profile etc.Treatment can be planned after confirmation of cause..
As of now you can take multivitamin supplements, gargle with a numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine, do cold water rinses and avoid spicy and acidic foods.
