What Causes Soreness Around An Injection Site?

Hi, A week ago I had 3 shots given to me due to having back pain cause of 3 back surgeries. One was a pain shot 1 a steriord n the other a muscle relaxer. I have had all these shot plenty of times (same meds) and never had an issue. The spot where they put 2 shots is still sore today and every time I stand up it s almost like I can feel the blood rushing to that spot it s about the size of a coffee cup (the area that I feel) n it tingles. Is it something I need to worry about? Thank you Melissa

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, you should definitely get it checked.
Possibility of injection abscess is more likely.
If technique of injection is poor, it can cause infection and abscess formation at the site of injection.
You are feeling pain and calm swelling even after 7 days of injection. So possibility of abscess formation is more likely.
So consult doctor and get done clinical examination and ultrasound of local part.
You may need incision and drainage (I and D) to remove abscess.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
