Hi,

Soreness in both nostrils that lasts for several months and does not heal can have a variety of causes. Here are a few possible explanations:
* Allergic rhinitis: Allergic rhinitis, or hay fever, can cause inflammation and soreness in the nasal passages. This can be caused by exposure to allergens such as pollen, dust, or animal dander. Other symptoms of allergic rhinitis can include sneezing, itching, and congestion.
* Chronic sinusitis: Chronic sinusitis is a condition in which the sinuses become inflamed and swollen, leading to pain and pressure in the face and head. Soreness in the nostrils can be a symptom of chronic sinusitis, as well as other symptoms such as congestion, postnasal drip, and a reduced sense of smell.
* Nasal vestibulitis: Nasal vestibulitis is an infection of the nasal vestibule, which is the area just inside the nostril. This can cause soreness, redness, and swelling, as well as a bad odor. Nasal vestibulitis can be caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses.
* Nasal trauma: Trauma to the nose, such as from blowing the nose too hard, can cause soreness in the nostrils. This can also cause a clear discharge and a bad odor.
* Nasal polyps: Polyps in the nose are growths in the nasal passage lining or the sinuses. These can cause soreness and other symptoms such as congestion, postnasal drip, and a reduced sense of smell.

It is important to see a doctor if you are experiencing soreness in both nostrils for an extended period. Your doctor can help determine the underlying cause and recommend the appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
