What Causes Soreness In Breasts Before Periods?

Hi - I'm a 38 year old female. Every month for the last 6 months or so - a few days before my period, my right breast gets very sore. There is one spot that gets particularly sore. I feel no lumps or irregularities. As soon as I get my period - the pain goes away. Is this normal?
