What Causes Soreness In Chest?

My husband has been experiencing soreness in his chest from left to right. he has been using muscles in the last 2 weeks he hasn t used but it is getting worse. When he sits still he does not hurt. Picking up our ipad hurts. The only relief he gets is when is lying in bed still. He is not coughing. His chest is sore like a pulled muscle. He just coughed and it hurt. Not pain just hurt is the way he describes it.

Thank you for your question! Regarding your concern it seems to be an extra-cardiac reason of your husband chest soreness. I recommend a physical consultation to your GP in order to rule out any pleural or pericardial friction rubs or to confirm a skeletic muscle origin. A chest x ray helps to the differentiation. Some anti-inflamatory drugs would help for pain relief, such as ibuprofen or naproxen or similar compounds.
Hope to have been of help to you.
