What Causes Soreness In Joints And Muscles After Menopause?

Am 47 - 5'6" 203 lbs - I have sore joints and muscles - but no swelling of joints - went for blood tests and no problems except cholesterol 271 - what could be causing my soreness? I don't take any medications and have only had my gall bladder out in 1997 - I am no longer mensturating last time 2006 - Could some lack of hormones be possilbe causes?
