What Causes Soreness In The Ankles?

Hi, I had R.F Closure of the frontal vein on my right leg back in December. Yesterday I noticed a soreness on my ankle, it s a little red and warm to the touch. Could this possibly be a blot cloth? Even 2 months after surgery? I must add that I was traveling on Sunday and sat for 3 hours on the plane - it was a full flight and although I kept moving my feet and flexing and rolling my ankles I was not able to stand up due to the cram space.

Hello,

The current issue of soreness in the ankles with a history of 3 hours flight journey is indicative of muscular ache, venous congestion due to dependant position only.

Heating pad application with rest would easily revert the issue back to normal physiology as early as possible, there does not sound any threat of blood clot.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
