What Causes Soreness In The Back And Neck And Aching Ribs?

Last night I fell really hard flat on my back and couldn t breathe for about 30 seconds, right afterwards I could feel the pain in my whole back all the way through my chest/heart. Today my back and neck were terribly sore, but the pain in my chest is still there now along with my ribs aching. Did I damage anything?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* There can be underlying respiratory congestion or another issue as muscle cramp or spasm involving intercostal muscles responsible for soreness in the back, neck and aching ribs.

* Primary management guidelines include

- deep breathing exercises
- meditations and YOGA
- local application of analgesic spray or ointment
- anti-inflammatory medicine as diclofenac, nimesulide or ibuprofen after meals (if no history of drug sensitivity )

* Consult your doc as per the need or clinical progress of the condition.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
