What Causes Soreness In The Breasts And Fatigue After Intercourse?

My boyfriend and I had protected but rough sex on July 3rd. My period came at June 25th but I m 4 days late now and I ve been experiencing my tummy rumbling, possibly sore breasts and exhaustion. All my friends say I m overthinking things because an episode like this has happened before where I thought I was pregnant when I wasn t but now I m really concerned bout this since I haven t actually gotten my period. I m usually regular and I never often have cramps and such. I don t know if I m just stressing out way too much or these might actually be symptoms. I REALLY DON T WANT TO BE PREGNANT. I M NOT READY. I M ONLY 17. I already took pregnancy tests twice on July 26th and July 28th and both came out negative. By this point, do you know if Hcg could be easily detected? Also I just wanna know how long was the longest you ve had to wait if you re regular due to stress. (;-;)

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

First of all the sex was protected, so majority of the threat of being pregnant should be eliminated with confirmation by negative urinary pregnancy test.

HCG (which is more specific and sensitive) can be taken as early as 6-8 days post ovulation, but usually your doc does not indicate need of the same except in certain clinical situations.

I would like to admire your further doubts anytime.

Take care.
