Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Soreness In The Jaw Along With Dizziness And Headaches?
For the past week or so, I have been waking up to a sore left jaw and it seems as though my jaws are out of line. My teeth do not line up as normal. I have had frequent head aches which subside with Ibuprofen. My left ear ringing is much worse. I have dizzy spells when my headaches are the worst. I recently lowered my Tenormin dosage and replaced it with Chlorthalidone to keep my blood pressure in check while allowing my heart rate to rise slightly. I was taking 50 mg of Tenormin twice daily. I have cut that to 50 mg once a day. I also recently cut my Atorvastatin from 80 to 40 mg and take 10 mg of Zetia instead.
Soreness in the jaws can be due to dental caries or tooth decay. Pain from teeth can radiate to head region. As you take Ibuprofen pain subsides but cause that is tooth decay remains as such. Ringing in the ear can be also due to a toothache in the jaw. Moreover, any irregular arrangement of teeth can cause ringing in ears.
All you need to do is get consulted by the dentist. You may need restoration of teeth, replacement or correction of malocclusion.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Soheel Hussain Zargar,
Dentist
