What Causes Soreness In The Knee Despite Taking Clexane?

Thank you.I sustained a bone bruise to my knee six weeks ago in MVA. A doctor has prescribed two months of S/C Clexane as I am flying to Hawaii (9 hours) in a week. I feel this is a little excessive. The knee is still sore but I don t require pain killers at the moment. He said I should be on crutches while I am away.

Clexane is not a pain killer. It is a blood thinner.

It is usually used to prevent heart attacks and strokes but can also be used to promote healing and prevent clots for those who have been bed ridden or immobile for long periods.

As you are traveling by a long duration flight,it is advisable to follow your doctor's instructions.
