What Causes Soreness In The Shoulder After Regular Exercise?

I have a sore shoulder following workout on weight machines. About 1 week ago. only sore when I do pushups or military press. I have full motion and no pain at rest. No noticeable swelling. how can I tell if it is torn vs just a strain? Would I need to see a doctor to use an OTC TENS device? Is a TENS device worth the money?

Hello,

The kind of exercises that are producing pain in your case is suggestive of a supraspinatus injury. Imaging like an ultrasound or an MRI will help differentiate between the two. Currently, you could try using a cold compress and shoulder rest till you can visit a doctor. I don't think an OTC TENS devise would be helpful at this point.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
