Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sore tongue for a long, long time. I thought it was from chemicals in diet Pepsi, so I stopped drinking that. I then thought it was tea and/or caffeine. That does not seem to be the issue either after elimination. What could cause a sore, scratchy, sometimes slightly swollen tongue?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of soreness in the tongue which is due to poor immunity of your body which is leading to glossitis. I t could be due to nutritional deficiencies as well.
Need not to worry, I would suggest you to maintain proper oral hygiene. You should chew vitamin C pellets daily. Drink plenty of liquids. Apply mucopain gel on these red sores. You should consult oral pathologist for proper examination and rule out causes like lichen planus and geographic tongue and also ENT surgeon for proper treatment. Take multivitamins in diet. Avoid any hot and spicy food and take diet rich in soft food. You should take antioxidant syrup as well.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
