What Causes Soreness On The Big Toe?

Hi, I starting noticing around 4 today that my big toe seemed sore. I took off my sock and the soreness seemed to be on the right inside of big toe. Right foot. i put some hydrogen peroxide on band aid and put it on. The toe is still sore and seems swollen and red.
