What Causes Spasms In The Esophagus And Edema In The Ankles?
Hello, just anxious about my husband, concerned about neoplastic disease. He is 66, previously in excellent health. Currently has feeling of stricture of spasm in esophagus, increased stomach and gut sounds, edema in both ankles, hypochromic/microcytic anemia, increased alk phos & ALT, hepatitis panel is normal. All signs have gotten worse quickly. Waiting for abdominal ultrasound appointment, have an upper GI scheduled next week. Very scary

yup in such case when patient feel dysphagia due to sricture,wieght loss,microcytic anemia low grade fever night sweats these all thing favuoring the neoplastic disease he must go for routine examination ASAP,to rule out malignancy full blood count to R/O leukemias or lymphomas GI endoscopy to RO adenocarcinoma of lower easophagus especially in GERD and smoker.USG for abdominal pathology of ankle edema may be Abdominal mass causing IVC obstruction.
