What Causes Spasms While Suffering With Migraine Headache?

Hi, I was diagnosed with migraines about 3 yrs ago. But they are a very obscure type. I get migraine spasms anywhere in my upper body, and can be both sides at the one time or one side only. I don t get light, sound, or smell sensitivity, nausea or vomiting. The longest one I ve had was 28 days long. More recently I ve had them start very suddenly (within seconds) and can be very severe and can stop me on the spot. I find it very hard to describe them to people as, for the most part (if they are not a sudden onset migraine) I can generally still function. I take Topomax and Sandomigran at present as treatment which works well for the most part. My question is, what are these type of migraines called as I cannot find them listed anywhere. When I first presented with them to my GP he looked in a book on hi shelf read out a description and it was exactly what I was feeling

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello and Thanks for posting your query.

Hi, I had gone through the problem and looked into the details mentioned. Migraine can be associated with variety of unusual symptoms. Tingling, numbness, spasms and so on with migraine responds to topiramate.

So I personally feel you need to continue on your medications and neglect ur spasms as your are still able to function normally. If they start troubling you can discuss with your Neurologist and decide on medications.

Wish you a good health.
I hope this helps you.
If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you.
